Node Park is set back from a country lane that leads from Hitchin and Codicote. In every direction, you are surrounded by rolling farmland, woodland and open countryside.
Nearby Hitch Wood is famous locally for its beautiful bloom of bluebells in the spring months and Knebworth Country Park is within easy reach on foot or by bike. Just to the north of Node Park is Knebworth House, a beautiful Gothic mansion now famous worldwide for its rock concerts. Welwyn’s Brocket Hall, a stately home built in the mid 18th century, is home to championship-standard golf courses and the five-star Auberge du Lac restaurant.
There are a number of pretty villages and hamlets within a handful of miles; Codicote is the nearest, where you’ll find a generously stocked local shop, a restaurant, three pubs and a butcher, as well as two garden centres. Beyond Codicote it’s only a few miles to Welwyn Garden City.
Welwyn Garden City has extensive shopping on offer, including an array of national retailers and a large John Lewis. There are impressive recreational facilities too, including Stanborough Lakes and Gosling Sports Centre with its dry ski slope, indoor and outdoor tennis, velodrome and golf driving range.
Both Hitchin and Harpenden are just 6 miles away; traditional market towns with a cosmopolitan edge, characterised by bustling high streets of independent boutiques, cafés and restaurants, as well as theatres, pubs and other amenities.
All three towns, and St Albans just a few miles further afield, are on the main lines into London, which can be reached in under half an hour.
